Mad skills

The Bang Gang DeeJays are a weird bunch of people. Mid-April Annie Mac broadcasted a minimix that she had ordered from them. basically just a minimix. But since the Bang Gang can't do anything basic they decided to fill the 5 minute with 82 tracks. Yes 82 tracks in 5 minutes. (Tracklisting below)

Love Sex Magic

This track is so hot it's ridiculous. Do I need to say more than that it's Ciara and Justin?

(if you have problems with the whole "naughty videos" thing then don't press play)

Confusing I'm Not Alone

Just so you know. only V is posting today since A is at home with his mama.

There's been a whole lot of spins for Calvin Harris and his track I'm not alone. It's been all over the music blog-o-sphere for ages. But it hasn't really gotten me hooked. Some of the remixed versions absolutely but not the original. Every time I hear the original I keep thinking of all those commercial trance acts back in 2000-2002 like Dj Sammy and Ian van Dahl. I'm sorry Calvin, but that's not a very positive thing anymore. Not in my book at least.

But I'm gonna post his video anyway mostly because the first 50 seconds are super beautiful and because I think it was sucky that he was forced to re-edit the video because of the showing of a knife.

1 + 1 = Super-1

Now I wanted to take some posting to the phenomenon of ridiculous remixes that's been around for ages but I've never heard in any clubs. I don't know why really but I'm gonna give some credit where credit is due.

I started thinking about this when I saw Justin crying out that he wanted Twitterytwats as friends. For some reason I started thinking which justin-track I had been listening to the most. What I realized was that it was one of those amazing remixes that I've never heard outside my own sets and playlists. It's a half-mash (not really a mashup but close) of the sweet and naughty track called SexyBack by Justin and the glorious track Girls by The Prodigy. These two tracks are awesome and both club- and iPod-worthy by their lonesome. But the magic is when they come together.
SexyBack (The Prodigy SexyGirls remix)
Sexy Girls are Back
SexyBack vs Girls
These three names are stuff I've seen the track be called on the interwebs and I've been using the second one. Who cares what it's called as long as it's dope? I used this on the Pink Parx-mixtape posted last week. But I'm gonna give you the videoversion I found when I snooped around tonight. So enjoy.

I've never seen that you can buy this one so I guess you'll have to pirate it or something. I got my copy a long time ago, before I had a conscience. And since I've bought everything else I have by both artist I feel highly comfortable with still using it.

Evolution version II

Okay This time we're gonna see how many ways we can dance to the original versions of one and the same artist.

Many years ago there was this girl who had most of her cells in the Dancehall genre:

Then she turned 18 and went into some RnB and there were some changes in her wardrobe and choreography, it seems:

When she noticed that the urban genres started going electro she followed suit and became even more stylized:

Rihanna is amazing in many ways and she's definitely evolved which is why she's on here. :)

We're sending you a message

This track is totally nuts. It's by Filthy Dukes, some of our favorite british people and the track is called Messages. It's hot like Hansel right now ;). PopJustice posted this as their song of the day Wednesday last week but we've been waiting to hear the full track. It's awesome. So retro and fresh at the same time. Heard some remixes over at the HypeMachine so this is totally going on the playlist. Sweet.
But no more nagging. Here's Filthy Dukes:

Evolution

This is a perfect example of how evolution works:

You have a solid foundation like carbon. It can be used in so many strange ways it's hard to keep track.

It can become weird primates who look weird and sound weird. But you like them anyway.

And then the primate evolves to human beings who are basically the craziest predators ever in existence. But we totally love them and can't stop even if we want to.
